Traveling is a passion of mine, and over the past few years I have had the opportunity to travel to 9 different countries. Although my overall experiences were extraordinary, being in a foreign country isn’t always what it’s made out to be. On my trip to Europe last summer, I was expecting to have the time of my life, and I did, but there was definitely some bumps along the road. The first being a cancelled flight from New Jersey to Ireland. The company I was flying with was a small Irish ran company that conveniently shut down the day I was supposed to be flying with them. (Which also meant I would be missing my connecting flight to New Amsterdam as well) After many long talks and a free nights stay at a hotel down the street, I was finally able to board with a different airline. Upon arriving to Ireland, I was told that there wasn’t another flight to New Amsterdam until the next day, so of course I was told the company would pay for my meals and a nights stay at the nearest hotel… Unfortunately they were all booked, so the nearest hotel happened to be an hour away from the airport that I would have to be at at around 5 am the next morning. It was 1 in the morning before I finally got to the hotel that I was supposed to be “sleeping” at, so I rested for a few hours and waited for the hotel shuttle to come pick me up for my flight. They were late.. Running through the airport trying to catch my flight so that I didn’t miss yet another flight I began to think that I would never actually get to where I was going. Luckily the flight had been running a little late, so I made it just in time. Sadly, this was only the beginning of my hapless adventure.

To be continued…
